We’ve teamed up with the creative team behind the design of our digital interactive work Beyond the Darkness, Playla.bz to offer a workshop at Headway Gloucestershire during Action for Brain Injury Week.
This year’s Action for Brain Injury Week focuses on the theme of ‘On a good day’: telling the stories of the fluctuating and unpredictable nature of brain injury, highlighting the gap between capabilities on a good day versus a bad day.
According to National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) over 1 million people attend emergency hospital departments in England and Wales each year with a recent head injury. While many make a full recovery, others are left with a long-term disability.
Our experience of using dance and movement to support people recovering from brain injury with their rehabilitation has shown that it can significantly improve memory and promote wellbeing.
We’re looking forward to taking Beyond the Darkness to people who are supported by Headway Gloucestershire to see how it can help support their recovery.
