We’re looking forward to presenting two of our works at The Dance Space in Brighton on 25-26 October as part of Dreamy Place festival 2024, a celebration of the vibrant world of art and technology.

Come and explore (The Moment) Everything Changed – an interactive digital dance experience that captures how it feels when the relationship between your brain and body changes, as experienced by those with neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s. Interact with a large screen, see how your movement is detected and captured using 360 degree cameras, then played back to you in the form of digital particles from which an avatar emerges. Effects, glitches and delays built into the interaction are designed to illuminate how neuro-disabled people can experience movement.

Plus, join our Artistic Director Nikki Watson and Creative Technologist Marius Matesan on Saturday 26 October, 4.45pm for a demonstration of (The Moment) Everything Changed and to hear about how the piece was created and the technology behind it.

Nikki will also present a screening of the work’s companion piece, As the Floor Shifts, a 10-minute long series of digital dance shorts in virtual and extended reality techniques that visualise symptoms experienced by people with neurological conditions and disabilities. Playing on a loop Saturday 26 October, 3pm-3.20pm & 7pm-7.30pm for those coming to see Imagining Otherwise by Flexer & Sandiland, as well as at 5pm-5.45pm.

No need to book, just drop in. Find out more about the Dreamy Place programme at The Dance Space here.
